Adjustable Fuel Senders for Marine Applications

Application

This fuel sender was designed for top mounting in unpressurized metal or plastic tanks, 10" [254mm] to 30" [762mm] deep. It includes special features and protection from corrosion problems (internal and external to the tanks) making it the quality standard of the industry.

General Information & Features

The sender has a slotted support arm which allows it to be adjusted for tank depths from 10 to 30 inches. When the required pivot point has been established, any surplus support arm length is simply cut off.

Standard float arm length is 18 1⁄2" [470mm], proper for a 30" deep tank. Refer to Cut length Chart DS-1247 for proper sizing for shallower tanks.

Float and washers are furnished unassembled to the float arm. The cutting and crimping process is done after float assembly. Standard configuration, with the hole at 12:00, has the float arm swinging at 3:00.

A stainless steel self-tapping screw and a stainless steel lock-washer are provided to secure ground wire to the sender head.

This marine fuel sender is only equipped with a 240 to 30 ohms resistance coil.

The recommended gasket for use under the head is made of Buna-N and must be ordered separately under part number 15-933.

System accuracy depends upon proper sender sizing. Resistance tolerances are +0%, -3% at empty; +3%, -0% at full. System accuracy may depend on tank shape. System accuracy may be less near full and empty. System accuracy may be less if tank is not level. System accuracy may be less depending upon indicator. This sender is not to be used for filling.
