8400 Series

Senior 4-Bolt Magnetic Liquid-Level Gauge

The 8400 Series Senior gauges were specially designed for hot and/or pressurized-water service on dishwashers, boilers, engine radiators, marine vessels (water or fuel), and fire trucks.

General Information & Features

The 8400 Series gauges are available in gear-action models for top, centerline or angle mounting. Lever-action models are available for centerline mounting.

These gauges are mounted by using four #0040-00424 bolts, 5⁄16" — 24 x 9⁄16", and a UL recognized #0015-00004 Buna-N gasket. The standard float is stainless steel. Nitrile rubber or an FDA approved polypropylene float are also available. For marine applications, #0040-00478 stainless steel mounting bolts should be used.

General Specifications*

Dial Data

Dials & senders are hermetically sealed & tested in 8" Hg vacuum.

Accuracy depends upon proper gauge sizing and is typically ±6% of dial indication. Accuracy may be less for some tank shapes and sizes. Accuracy may be less near full and empty. Accuracy may be less if tank is not level. This gauge is not to be used for filling. All accuracy estimates are expressed as a percent of full scale.

Temperature Range

Standard is -40°F to 212°F, -40°C to 100°C with optional stainless steel mounting bolts which maybe required for temperatures below -20°F, -29°C. Higher ratings and special construction available for coolant service.
